James Roth (Jamie)

jamieJames T. Roth (Jamie) is an attorney who is a welcome new addition to the Counsellors Title team. Jamie grew up in both Howard County and Montgomery County Maryland, and following his military service Jamie returned to the D.C. metro area.

An attorney with real estate and commercial litigation experience, Jamie also draws from an extensive professional background prior to becoming an attorney, enjoying a distinguished career that spanned over twenty years in the private and public sectors with experience in real estate, project management, strategic planning and asset management.

As a Senior Consultant for LMI Government Consulting, Jamie served as a Real Estate Program Manager to U.S. Customs and Border Protection at CBP’s headquarters for over a decade. He worked closely with realty specialists and attorneys from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Justice Department, coordinating the planning and execution of the real estate clearance process for new facility and border security infrastructure construction projects.  In that capacity, he supported eminent domain litigation efforts frequently required to resolve title issues and acquire property.

Jamie is a former U.S. Coast Guard officer with decorated service over his three tours of active duty. He served as a civil engineer overseeing the myriad facilities needs of two dozen USCG stations along the Gulf coast, and his second operational assignment at sea was as Chief Engineer and third-in-command of a 210-foot Cutter based in Miami Beach.

Jamie is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia and Maryland, where he serves on the Montgomery County Bar Association’s Ethics Committee. In addition to graduating with a B.S. in Civil Engineering from The United States Coast Guard Academy, he went on to earn two degrees here in D.C., including a law degree with honors from The Catholic University and an MBA from Georgetown University. He is a former licensed realtor in D.C., Maryland and Virginia, and he has been a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) for over twelve years.
